N5 Not Maintaining Selected Phone Sound

When I select a phone sound it changes back to the default sound, (which is very hard to hear) within a day.
Is this just a bug that everyone is getting. Please let me know. And if you know of a way to fix this, let me
know. I am missing a lot of calls.

If this problem were common you would see a lot if complaints about it; it doesn't affect my Nexus 5.

My guess is that you installed something along the way which has the ability to change or reset your ringtone. There are many apps that can do this - Tasker and various NFC related apps come to mind...
