N6 doesn't see Chromecast, MotoX, iPad do?

My nexus 6 (stock) doesn't reliably see my chromecast, however both my wife's Moto X (2nd gen stock pure edition) and iPad do... Any ideas on what may be causing this? Its not app specific.

It "sees" Chromecast via wifi, so check your wifi setup. Or just install Chromecast and mirror the phone to Chromecast. (Instructions at Chromecast mirroring.)

Thanks for your input. Chromecast app doesn't list the Chromecast itself either. Same chromecast app on motox does. All other data over same WiFi network seems fine to nexus 6. I wondered if it was a router or 5Ghz/2.4Ghz issue, but I would think both Nexus6 and MotoX would have same problem... Puzzling!
