On my wife's Mini, an occasional email response does not display in the message. The first couple lines of the message are in the header and the full text is in her PC Outlook client, but not visible on the phone.
The account is configured as POP3 (she prefers it over IMAP so she can delete at will knowing the email will remain on the server) and the most frequent inbound offender is a GMail address from one person. It's not clear whether the other instances are also GMail addresses.
