native skype client on N1 on tmobile

I have the N1, a few days ago I got the 2.2 ota update.

I used to use the Skype(beta) every day to talk to the Philippines, ever since the 2.2 update the app locks up and requires a battery pull to fix it.

I know that Verizon has a deal with Skype for a native client and the apk does not work on non Verizon phones.

I have tried, fring, nimbuzz, Iskoot and every other Skype app. my problem is that I drive for a living and my data signal moves up and down all the time.

does anyone know if someone has hacked the Verizon app to allow it to work on a non Verizon phone (IE Tmobile)
