Nav dock / music app, why only playlists?

So, when my Bionic is in the Nav dock, the music player library button only shows playlists. And since I don't use playlists, the only thing there is "recently played". Anyone know how to get the album or artist library display when the bionic is in the nav dock?

I guess I could start making playlists, but that's not what I want to do.
Thanks.

I'm guessing it might be by default since they're probably trying to discourage messing with your files while driving.

I noticed the same thing too. The only way I've found to get around it is it by not running the car doc interface at all. Here's how:

1. Unplug the car doc power cable from the cigarette lighter. (usb end of cable still attached to doc)
2. Place the Bionic in the dock.
3. Plug the power cord back into the cigarette lighter and notice now the doc app does not launch.

You can now use the music app as if you were not in the dock at all.

Kind of a hassle, but it works. For me it's not an issue because added a cigarette power adapter under my dash that turns on and off with a button. So I just have it off, put the bionic in the charger and then turn it on.

It is so you aren't going through your entire library of music while you are supposed to be driving. Playlists are quick and easy...
