Navigation Burning Up the Battery

The last few times I've used Navigation my battery has become so hot, I could barely touch the back of the phone.
Any ideas why or suggestions?

It's because of the intense processing occuring while using it. Also the screen being on too and you probably have your phone plugged into the charger. My Nexus 4 does the same thing.
