One of the features of the OnePlus 6T that I thought I would give a try is the Navigation Gestures that can replace the traditional on screen Nav Bar.

Initially, I was prepared not to like this newfangled way of navigating on the phone. After all, I had gone from the physical home button and 2 soft keys for the Samsung Galaxy range and the OnePlus 3, to the 3 on screen Nav Keys and now... no keys.

However, a week later and the Navigation Gestures are already second nature and a great way, IMHO, of navigating around the phone for me and I doubt I shall ever return to the 3 soft keys again.
For those wishing to try the Navigation Gestures go to....

Settings > Buttons & gestures > Navigation bar & gestures > Navigation gestures

Take the time to scroll through the brief instructions. (see screenshot)

One of the advantages is that it does offer a cleaner look and a bit more on screen real estate. (see screenshot below)

What do you think?

(Nova Launcher Prime, Transparent Clock & Weather, Black Shark Helo wallpaper)

I quite like the gestures as well but miss the "double tap" on the home button to turn the screen off from any app (Using Microsoft Launcher and the gestures only work on the home screen)

I love the gestures, and if you have used an iPhone X they are second nature for the most part.

Using Nova launcher you can just setup the double tap gesture to lock it when you double tap on the home screen.

There seems to be some confusion regarding the 5 dots shown in the first screenshot in post #1.

The 5 dots on the Global model on 9.0.5 are scrolling instructions for...

  1. Home
  2. Recent apps
  3. Back
  4. Switch to the previous app
  5. Landscape

The only thing I don't like about the gestures is having to swipe up multiple times to go back if your deep into an app or webpage

I just love the iPhone X gestures - especially the one where you can keep swiping left or right at the bottom to switch between apps. Once you have done that, nothing seems as easy. I wish the 6t/Android gets that soon.
