Navigator Favorites and Shortcuts

Hello! I am using Navigator as my primary GPS and I love it! The only problem is I can not find any info on how to save my personal points of interest, work, home, other locations, that I want to save like I did on my stand alone GPS. Any idea how to do this? I have heard about long pressing the home screen, then selecting shortcut, etc., but the shortcut selection is not available from the menu I get after long pressing an empty area of the home screen. I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus from Verizon with Android 4.0.4.
