AC Question

I broke my LG G2 and need something short term. I want to wait till the next round of phones, moto x+1, nexus 6, etc, come out. I tried to buy a Moto G from the Verizon store for $99 but they said I could only activate it on a prepaid plan. Then after 6mo I could turn off the prepaid and activate it on my regular plan. I don't want to spend a ton of money since I will only be using the phone for a month or 2.

Have you been to the store and asked what the cheapest device you could get and add to your current line?

Some people have been able to activate the Moto G on postpaid without using it on prepaid first. That's against policy though so if you ask any at Verizon, they will always tell you the policy.

I was wondering how Verizon knew if it was a prepaid phone or not. Is it the same scenario as the "keep your unlimited data" trick. As long as you dont use the sim card that comes with the phone, verizon wont know where the phone came from?

I am with @golfdriver here try to see if you can borrow a friends phone or maybe buy it from them. or check craigslist/swappa/ebay for good deals and use swappa imei checker when you buy so you dont get stolen or unpaid stuff LOL ;)
