I have a otterbox commuter, and a defender I rock the defender as I like the belt clip and built in screen protector on the defender

Using a TPU case I got off Amazon. Form fitting and doesn't add a lot of bulk.

Had the seidio active didn't like the lint magnet that it is so switched to seidio surface love it very sleek doesn't add much bulk at all

I have both the Seidio Active Combo with Holster & TPU Case.

What I like is that the TPU Case also fits the Seido Holster (so it can be used with it!

I have a tendency to drop my Photon alot (daily) and the TPU Case is really great at protecting it!

Yes the TPU case is a thicker, but it is still slim, comfortable, inexpensive, easy to remove especially for needed battery pulls.

TPU Case cons: I don't like the shiny finish, its a grease & fingerprint grabber, but easy to wipe off on your pants or shirt. Will not fit in standards Moto Docks (none do as far as I know).

TPU Case pro's: Inexpensive, excellent protection, comfortable, not to thick, not sticky, does not attract dust, feels good (don't put it in your back pocket!)

Seidio Case Cons: 2 piece slide on design can be a little finicky snapping it on & off, attracts dust. Will not fit in standards Moto Docks (none do as far as I know).

Seido Case Pro's: Very thin & slim case. (Don't put it in your back pocket)

Seido Holster (extended for cases): Cons: Use care when getting in & out of car as with all holsters. May possible break, wish the rivet was better on it. Would not use it as a laborer, landscaper, etc (job).

Seido Holster (extended for cases) Pros: Fit & works pretty well. Works with TPU Cases. Good for non- laborer job.

So there are some options, if your tight on cash just get the TPU Case for now. I got the Seido combo for only $29- with free shipping @ Amazon.

My Photon still looks brand new, now dents or scratches after several months with the above cases.

If this has helped you, please hit the Thanks or Like button below!

God Bless

Actually, the MoPho will fit in the Motorola car dock with a tpu case on, with a little modification. Its not the prettiest looking, but if u cut the opening on the left side (where the charging port is) a little bigger and square it, it fits. The dock is made with a removable insert to fit with a case on, but there is a small squared area around the USB port that protrudes, so the case has to be cut to fit over that area.

I had the Rocketfish Mobile on since 10/11 just because that was what BB had avail when I bought mine.

The case did it's job, no issues but it was a slight bulky.

Just switched to a Platnuim by Seidio which comes with a holster, case is thinner that the previous and cost about 2x ($35), not sure if I will use the holster but hey it's an option.

I'm thinking of buying an extended battery. Should I even bother looking for a case to fit over the larger back of the phone?

OtterBox Defender Series. I will never use any other cases on my phones. And the simple reason is their customer service is phenomenal. My MoPho holster had a weak spring, I fired off an email, just one, and ask I said was it seemed weak, had thee been other complaints. Within 24 hours I had received an, apology and an invoice number where they were sending me a new one. Within a week I had a box.with not one, but two holsters. And a sticker that is now proudly displayed on my Jeep XJ. I am using one of the holsters modified for everyday use and experimenting with the bad one. Keeping the other one factory for comparison when I have fully modified my holster into the OtterDock.
So I am going to say you should get an OtterBox. The look, fit and function it's truly top shelf. All cases will have pros and cons, but in my experience any cons are far outweighed by exceptional customer service. And you don't need to worry about the Motorola CarDock. Just search my posts. Wrote a how to on using the app without the need for the Dock.

Have not found 1 yet

so it looks fruitless

be sure to check out reviews on whatever ex batt & cover your getting, many are crap batteries and/or poor fitting door covers.....

@lapk78 I think it's worth getting a case just because of the obvious reasons. I'm debating whether or not to get a protector for mine

I just got my Photon as well, right now it's in the otterbox commuter that the guy I bought it from kept it in. Seems like a good idea, since the phone still looks like new, but man is it bulky. And the phone looks so good naked, I'm really tempted to go without a case -- if only I wasn't a clumsy fool and scared of dropping it all the time. Ordered a TPU, hopefully that won't feel as bulky...

Sorry, what I was really asking was if there even exists a case that will fit a photon with an extended battery.

That's the one I've been looking at for our Photons. Definitely has its own look, and seems to be a good case. Also looked at some TPU cases.
