I asked for help in another thread, but I thought I would start a new one including my specific problems.

Current Setup
Android Version: 2.3.4 (Stock from Stock ROMS - Downloads - Scott's ROMS . <Great Link, BTW< . renamed PG86IMG)
HTC Sense Version 3.0
HBOOT-1.50.0000 (*** LOCKED ***)

Problem:
I have touch screen issues. It is unlikely that it is a hardware issue because the touchscreen works fine in all areas of it, depending on what App I am using.

For example, as of late, I can't click any of the 3 buttons on the bottom of the home screen. This makes it annoying to use the phone Application (obviously). With other applications, however, that area of the touchscreen works fine...

Already Tried:
After reloading PG86IMG through it worked perfect for like 3 hours and then the touch screen issues came back.

I was having problems with PG86IMG was because it would always say something like, "UPDATE FAIL Main version is older"

I tried something that I saw on you tube in which I typed in a couple of lines in my computer's command prompt. It was supposed to mess with the HBOOT, so that could have helped...

Already Suggested

I have been told that maybe it has something to do with the flash? Someone else has given me advice but it was too complicated for a noob like me... ):

Help Wanted - (LOL)
I don't really understand (am ignorant to) all the complicated stuff , so if anyone could give me an Andriod-For-Dummies step by step troubleshoot , that would be great!

I don't care if I run a stock type rom or a rooted one. No real preference, although rooted would be cool, if I can count on it to run how it is supposed to. I use my phone a lot for work, on the job.

I just want it to run smoothly like it used to. Whatever is the most reliable, and/or easiest way to fix it...

Like I said, who ever can help me out I would be more than willing to send them a small thank you gift as my token of appreciation... (It's either that, or taking it into a shop for 10* that amount, hah...)

Thanks!

Sorry for taking a bit to respond, I was trying to unlock the hboot the official way and failed somehow....... UGH I could have sworn I did it right

I got all the way through, pasted the Device Identifier Token into the HTCdev site thing, and got an error message. If I can't figure it out Ill ask for help like the n00bie I am, sigh...

did u make sure u did not have a space in the betakey and it copy right think u need to do the notepad copy and paste

100% sure there was no space, I tried twice.

When I put the 3 files in my c\android folder, i accidentally pushed one of them into the other and it looked like it did something weird.
So thats probably why its messing up.

I'm trying to uninstall / reinstal java sdk.... x.x any suggestions?

Update: After rebooting windows and reinstalling everything, I successfully unlocked the HBOOT...
Amazing what restarting your computer will clear up... ~rolls eyes~

On step TWO, hah... S:

Try again with the files in the correct space. Let us know how it goes.

good luck just make sure when u are done u get flash image app and flash the kernel from the zip or u will have no wifi or 4g

ok, thanks guys. So, I successfully installed clean rom, and its smoother, but still having problems with the phone button on home screen. To confirm it's not the touchscreen, I used the camera, and the buttons on the bottom all work fine.

This guy, optimuszach, suggested to download flash image GUI and do something, but I'm not quite sure what to do. Any help? Thanks a million.

That won't do anything to help the touchscreen issue. That helps to flash kernels and such.
