Mobile: Samsung Galaxy S4

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and want to add my college email to it. The problem is every email app I use it can't detect what settings the email server uses so I have to enter them manually, which was easy for Outlook 2013 on Windows, not for Android however. On android I copy the settings I use in Outlook except the outgoing security type as when I use SSL android returns the error massage that the server does not support that type of authentication and wn't let me finish. Either way no matter what settings I use when I receive messages I don't actually see them on my mobile, only on Outlook and the web client. Would appreciate some help, thanks!
