Hi guys,noob problem here.

Problem:
my nexus died while i was watching a youtube video but my battery is still 30+% when i plugged my charger turned it on,it only got to the lock screen and and then it died again. but this time it has the static on the screen so i panicked. i went to the twrp recovery and wiped the cache, dalvik and accidentally wiped the system. now i have it's showing "no os installed,do you still want to reboot?". at this point,i dont know what to do. i read forums and guides to restore the factory image. i downloaded them and tried flashing it from my nexus toolkit 1.6.2 and it's taking a very long time to "waiting for your device to finish booting back up" and i tried it on the coomand prompt too but failed "too many links" message showed up. everytime i go to the bootloader and flash the stock image it always "hangs",the volume up and down wont work, its always on the "start".

oh and when i went to the command prompt to check for adb devices,my device doesnt show up.

i really need help, are there any step by step guide for dummies?
i'm sorry if the question is a little unorganized,i'm panicking, did i miss anything? please help

thank you!

I did download the stock image from google when i tried to flash it back to stock and locked. but it wont work.

Have you tried to mount USB storage through twrp? And transfer a rom to install? If you do this, make sure you reboot back into recovery before you install the rom (hard people have issues trying to install without the reboot)

i forgot to mention that after i tried flashing the the stock image i always get the android with the red exclamation point. is there any way that i can flash the twrp recovery?

As mentioned above, you might be better off ask this question in xda-developers.com

i have found the answer. If you have nexus(7,4..)you need to download nexus root toolkit.Install full driver test than connect your tablet to pc and go to bootloader(press the button to boot and vol-).Than go to your computer on nexus root toolkit when at flash stock +unroot choose soft-Bricked/bootloop and than press flash stock and compete the instalation. And that"s it. If i help anybody pls say thx:))

Alin petrisor! Thank You so much for the advice... i carried it out on my Nexus 5 and it worked like a charm.. had too sign up and say thank you. ;-) Had the exactly the same problem as the guy who started this thread. I had TWRP installed but i had nothing on my sdcard(no recovery or rom) but this programme helped guide me through recovering my phone and now its fully functioning!

Worked like a charm do you have a halo floatin above your head:)

Your a wonder that worked like a charm:) Took a bit to get the drivers sorted so the PC could detect it but 15 mins later sorted back like it was when I bought it.. Lost all my apps and books though but there all backed up on a HD so jobs a good'en.
