need help on rooting and backing up the droid x with 2.3.3 - .605

Ok tried to root the og DROID when it came out wasn't able to now I have the DROIDX bout to upgrade to the galaxy nexus whenever it comes out lol!!! So I want to do factory reset on the x and give it do my gf.... that's no problem but I want to root it so I can use the wifi tether apps that needs root access. I have gingerbread 2.3.3- 4.5.605 do I use the same method as 4.5.602? I found some posts with steps on that can someone help I also want to know how to install custom roms, backup my phone someone please help...

One Click Root works for 605. Then you need to download the wifi patch.zip and flash that on your DX. Droid Modder X has some good videos on youtube.
