Need Help Returning to Stock

Hey, so i just tradded my samsung focus for the captivate. The guy i got it from already had it rooted and the icons are missing, so im guesing he had titanium backup and froze some of the applications that i actually wanted. and its also 2.2. How do i get everything wiped off, including the root that he sideloaded and my icons back and start everything all fresh? please help me

Thats hard to understand..im fine with it rooted right now, my how do i get my market to update? its still the old version.

It's not hard to understand. The first thing you need to do is read, read, read. If you want to update the market search for a market apk over at XDA forums, or possibly here as well. Otherwise, just read and do research so you understand how to do things with the Captivate. It's the best advice I can give you.
