Need help rooting optimus s on 2.3.3

I never rooted my phone before the update and of coarse when the update came out i instantly updated not thinking about it. is is possibly to root my optimus s if iv never rooted it before and im running the gingerbread 2.3.3?

Yes and no. You have to revert to zvd 2.2 and follow the zvh rooting guide in the rom section. It is a sticky, right at the top of the page. It will even link you to the guide you need to revert to zvd

i tried that but when i attempt to install the package it says it cant verify signature or something like that and wont let me install it

As mentioned in BOLD you need stock recovery to use the VD update.zip

dont i have that? when you push power vol dwn and home button? i do that and when i load the menu and press the zip it trys to install but fails

MD5: 2db9b55305cff37a6b6e402fb8518acf

alternatively please just re-download update.zip from the 2nd link in my signature.

Also if you could list the exact error you are getting, that could help.

im going to retry with your link. if it does have the error again ill take a picture or something so you can see it

im having the exact same problem he was having and the file cannot be found. ive tried downloading the update from many different sources and it still will not work

Make sure the update.zip file is in the root of your sdcard
