Need help selecting apps

I will be coming from a Palm Pre and brand new to android so I was wondering if you could suggest apps that I should have to make my life easier. Thanks in advance.

Elaborate on your life and what you currently do with your Pre.

Basically, what do you want to be able to do.

I will definitely need navigation of some kind, facebook, email, texting, searching the web, a few fun games, weather, getting the news.

Google maps is pre installed, that will (or should, depends on the version it comes with) have Navigation, which is a good GPS. There is an official Facebook app, email is built in, texting is built in, browser is built in, built in quick google search on the desktop widget, I don't play games on phones =), weather.com app or just google weather, there might even be a built in weather app and theres google news but im sure there are plenty of customizable RSS feeds on there.

As for names, apps for email and texting I don't know of any. When you're in the marketplace and you just search keywords you'll more than likely find what you need. There are a few browsers out there. Opera, and Dolphin are the two that I know of, but a new one is shooting up the downloads fast; Mira.
