Hi everyone, I recorded a video and it got saved as temp_video, is there any way I can salvage this or is this video lost?

Thanks

rename it with an mp4. If it still does not play then copy it to a PC and run VLC player on it, if there is any salvagable mp4 data it will find it in which case you can use an editor like Vdub to cut and properly recompress the valid data. If VLC finds nothing there isn't anything you can do.

Thanks for the reply, I tried renaming it to mp4 and run and convert with vlc but it didn't work unless I did something wrong, I then tried mp4fix from Google play and it claimed to recover 89% of the file and I was able to preview it, I recorded about 1:30 but only 41 seconds was salvaged so I don't know where they get 89%?

Anyhow to save it I need to purchase the app for about $7.00 so contemplating whether it's worth it or not

Just to update I decided to buy the app for $7.49 because it was a video of my dad's birthday, not sure its worth it that will depend on the individual but it did salvage about half the video and any future corrupt files I may get

Also I've decided to keep my internal storage as the main storage for any camera use as I believe my 6 year old sd card seems to be the problem I'll just keep the sd card for backing up pics and music and stuff, can't risk losing valuable media files

I'm kind of curious to know how many people keep sd card as default storage for camera

I save my media stuff into the external SD card only, because: 1. it has a much larger capacity, 2. If anything bad happens, like in your case, it will be much easier to recover the files from the SD card (e.g. I can take it out the device and send it to some recovery services).
