need help with connecting a controller

I bought a PowerA Pro EX Mini Xbox 360 Wired Controller to use on my nexus 7, for snesdroid and My Boy! and other emulators. But when i plug in the controller, the light in the middle just blinks. Anything i can do to make it work?

I take it that your nexus is rooted and that you're using a otg wire. Are you using both [root] Ntfs Mounter and [root] StickMount? It might be that the controller uses more power then the usb can put out, but I can't see how that would be, because I can use my afterglow v1.0 with mine with the lights turned on. I have never heard of it before, but after looking it up, it has mixed reviews all over the place, you ether get a good one or its complete garbage. Can you turn on the bumper lights without it dieing? You maybe just have a lose connection in you micro usb port. Hope that help a little.
