Need help with gs2 Battery Problem

Hi my dads gs2 keeps turning off it says it has about 60% battery but it randomly turns off when its not pluged in when its plugged in its fine but when I turn it back on after it shuts off randomly its at 0% battery and if you dont keep it plugged in it will die this happens over and over again (his phone is not rooted) I really need some help because he needs his phone Thanks in advance Nick Shaver

Like all the other battery problem posts, I'm going to suggest that the battery may be failing. Take the battery out, place it on a flat surface and try to spin it. If it's bulging it'll spin easily. That's the sign of a dying battery.
 
So your saying if I put it on a table spin the battery if itvspins easily itsca sighn ofva bad battery right

Try the spin test, if the battery is swollen it will spin like a top. If it does you need a new battery.

Probably a bad battery.
Do the spin test to make sure.
The same thing happened to me in February, basically it seems like the battery meter isn't working, but its the battery.
Go ahead an order a more powerful battery, rather than stock, you won't regret it.
I have a slim 2000mah bat and can go all day (5:40am - 7pm) in a poor service area and still have over 30% left with no battery savers & power saving mode off. :)
