need hex code for htc hero phone

hi guys

im new to android and was trying to make a gold card to unroot the phone and install the recovery software that i read off the unlockr.
i tried this in windows 7 and the htc sync software had some usb issues when trying to connect the phone. i loaded up windows xp in vmware like the site suggested and fired up hxed

now this is the part where something went wrong. i selected on physical hard disks, then the removable media option as the site instructed, now you would assume that this is the usb right? as it turns out it was the htc that i selected.
i then proceeded thinking it was the sd card and copied the 170 lines of hex code or so from the bootimage for the gold card.

so my question is..
is there by any chance any user out there on the htc hero and a hex editor?
could you please post the hex code for the phone?
starting from the first offset up to and including the 170 line.

i have tried using the officail ruu to try and reflash but since the hex code of the phone has changed it no longer reads as my htc, it shows up as removable disk instead..

i have been trying to get the ruu info and create an update.zip to try flash from recovery
anyone have idea what files are needed with it?
i've tried extracting rom.zip and renaming it as update but something is missing
