I wear hearing aids and the earpiece volume and quality of my new EPIC is wonderful.

I have trouble in the car though hearing it ring even when set to max.

Anyone know of anything truly annoyingly load such as a regular phone type ring?

Don't really care as long as it's obnoxious enough to hear :)

I have an old school ringer.
I think I uploaded it to my ringtone thread.

I have had 47 tubes in my left ear alone and know all about hearing loss.

I, too, have hearing loss. You didn't say if it was highs or lows you have trouble hearing. Mine is mostly high, so these have worked well. And, as far as hearing in the car, turn your radio down...lol.

Anyway...here is some that I found as "annoying" ring tones from somewhere. I usually don't have trouble hearing these.

They are, for the most part, annoying but hearable...lol

Whatever ringtone you decide on, use a program like Audacity to boost the gain on the file to make it louder. Just don't boost it too much, or you will risk damaging the phone's speaker.

Also, you might want to get a BT speaker for your Epic for use in your car. The BT speaker can be clipped right on your sunvisor, which is right next to your head/ears. They have a much bigger speaker than the small one that is in your phone, plus they are designed to be used in the noisy car environment, so they have significantly louder volume than the phone's speaker.

Jabra and Motorola make good quality BT speakers. Others use BlueAnt.

I'm not sure about the epic but my Evo has a setting for people with hearing aids that turns up the volume of the ringtones and notifications.Cant remember were in the settings it was, but Im sure if you look around you'll find it.

A) Thanks for the Annoying Rings :)

B) Would never have the radio on if I really wanted to hear the phone ring.

C) hearing issues are in the higher frequencies...which my wife's voice must be!

D) Thought about a BT speakerphone but everyone I talk to who has used them says they sound horrible on the other persons end? I suppose I could just get one and try it out.

Loud Ringtones

I have a high frequency loss and found a solution for my ringtone problem. I made some ringtones using a program that generates morse code from text. I set the tone sound at 800 hertz. I can hear this low frequency pretty well.

I am a Ham radio operator so I can read code. I made ringtones for some of ham friends that is their callsign, Wife is YL, office is Period and unknown is a question mark!

These ring tones work great for me.

The program I used is WINMORSE 2. The program can be found at WinMorse - The Ultimate Text to Morse Solution
