Need major help with my Fascinate!

So, trying to sum up what happened as quickly as possible... My boyfriend wanted to switch his Verizon Fascinate to Metro PCS. He wanted a FULL flash with picture messaging, access to Market, data/internet, and everything. We went to a place yesterday that said they were able to do the full flash, with unlocking for the extra features for Metro. We waited for over 4 hours and when we came to pick up the phone they told us they were only able to flash it not unlock it. So my boyfriend can only use the talk and text features of the phone. What we think happened was they just overcharged us to take it to a metro store themselves to flash it, then tried messing around with it after to unlock it but couldn't figure out how. I really need step by step instructions on how to unlock the other features on metro for the fascinate. It's already flashed and working on Metro's network, but I need access to web, market, etc. Anyone who knows how to do this please help! Also, I wanted to update my firmware to the highest possible (at least 2.2). It's still at the stock 2.1 from Verizon. The place we went to said it couldn't be updated when flashed because it wouldn't be compatible with Metro network. Not sure if that's correct. I assume it's rooted because doesn't it have to be rooted to be flashed?? Please help! Any directions on at least how to get it unlocked, and updated firmware is just a plus! Also, either of these won't mess with the flash that's already been done will it,? I was also told by doing other things to modify the phone could undo the already flashed process. its a growing carrier in the south east US, but i dont think we can help her with this . ill look into it

I tried looking up stuff for this also. Not getting much information other than Craigslist stuff of people selling Fasincates that work on MetroPCS. Had some time during my lunch break. CDMA kinda sucks when it comes to this.

Go back to metro and make them buy you a VZ Fascinate replacement. They're the ones that screwed it up. If they want to say a particular phone will work on their network, they should sell it in their own stores. Granted they're a CDMA network, it still doesn't mean every CDMA phone will work. Just like not all GSM phones are interchangeable (iPhone).

I would check to see if the phone they gave u back is really your phone.
