My contract with Verizon will expire on Jan 25th. Early termination fees ceases on that date. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung 4 Tablet. There's nothing wrong with the phone just outdated. I use my tablet for games, bill paying, and everything else that I use my computer for. Phone is used 98% of time for calls, texting, internet searches. I like the One Plus 3T and the Google Pixel. Also read all the forums on One Plus 3. Being on Verizon, I can't use the 3T, and after much search on the forums only Verizon and Sprint applies. I want to keep my phone number that I've had for 10 years. I've thought of moving to Straight Talk (great plan of 10GB data for $55 no contract) which Verizon is the #1 carrier, however, I can't find out who else supports Straight Talk. Also trying to keep my bill low (just retired 30 days ago) and don't want to spend $800 for the Pixel or more that $70 for the bill. Any thoughts or suggestions how I can move to another carrier and still purchase the 3T? Please give me some guidance as I've read reviews on updates for 3T and other negative on problems with 3T. HELP!!!!

Buy a 3T. Port your number to a new carrier, AT&T or T-Mobile or an MVNO that uses either of those two carriers. Put SIM from your new carrier in the 3T.

Buy the 3T and get a new number setup on AT&T, T-Mobile, Straight Talk or the like. Test out the service and then you can port your Verizon number over later to replace the new temporary number.

If you switch to straight talk with a verizon sim, you will likely have the same problems as people who try to use the OP3/T with a verizon account. Either make sure ST gives you an ATT sim or consider Cricket - they are owned by ATT. Cricket works well for my OP3. In US carriers are required to allow porting numbers - that includes cricket.

Cricket for the cheap single plan. If you have a ton of data for your family att seems to be good about it.

There are a ton of options for you. Most carriers will let you keep your number, so no worry there.

I like and use At&t even though they are expensive, they just have the best coverage and family plan in my area (5 lines).

If price is a concern, T-Mobile, Straight Talk, Cricket?, and Metro are all great options with great pricing.
