Hello,

I just unlocked my VZW galaxy nexus and it just shut off and won't load anymore. It just shows the Google in the middle and key lock over and over... the phone had shut off prior because I dropped it and the battery came out. What do I do?? I'm actually nervous here because I have no phone :(

I'm completely new to this and wanted to learn how to root this phone.

Please help!

when you connect to the cpu with usb, open up terminal like you did to unlock. enter the following and copy what happens in a reply post here:
(this assumes you have your folders set up like in the mac guide thread)
cd desktop
cd adb-fastboot
./adb devices

If I disconnect the usb, I see "Fastboot command read error -214783647" on the bottom of the screen (of the phone)

ok so you didnt get far enough to root and get a custom recovery on there right?

so i think if a battery pull and a regular reboot doesnt get you going, we'll have to get you to restore to stock using ODIN mode.

Try the battery pull first, and if it doesnt work, i'll point ya to how to get ODIN mode to restore ya to stock. hopefully you didnt f up the hardware when it dropped...

wait when you connect to usb and open the terminal and enter those commands, it should say something on the cpu not on the phone.

i forgot to add, connect to usb, then boot the phone in bootloader mode - (hold power, vol up, and vol down all together) - THEN you can open terminal and enter those commands. let me know if that works, if you can even get to bootloader mode, etc.

thanks

Odin mode? how to? phone has a few scratches, so no biggie. I just need to be put back into the right direction. Nothing comes up in the terminal..

and I can't get into anything except the android screen where the chest is open and the different options from there

I put the phone into ODIN mode and it just keeps recycling the Google screen .. this phone has to be officially bricked

probably.

download this:
http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...ta5_toro.img&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13409422175311

place it in the folder that contains fastboot on your mac - (should be called adb-fastboot if you followed what that guide says)

next, connect your phone via usb. boot into bootloader (android on his back).
open the terminal. enter these commands:

Code:
cd desktop
cd adb-fastboot
~/desktop/adb-fastboot/ fastboot boot cwmr_touch_beta5_toro.img

let me know if that boots cwm touch on your device.
