Need some advice.

My sister recently got a Note 3 from her BF as a surprise birthday gift (how awesome is that?!), and she's relatively new to Android, as her previous phone was an iPhone 4S.

What apps would you guys recommend and what tips would you like to share for her?

Because the Note 3 has more features than I could count. xD

Depends on what she's in to. Bank app, news, travel apps. Pinterest, Instagram, moviefone or fandango, grocery app. All up to her.

I would tell her to watch some of the great youtube tutorials that show how to use all of the features of the phone.....hard to utilize all that the phone can do if you don't know what they are.

New to android, and the Note 3... Lots of youtube videos to get up to speed. Galaxy Note 3 Experience app is awesome to learn how to use the Note 3. I highly recommend it.

What did your sis do on her iphone? That will allow us to give the best responses.

I love Swiftkey even more on the Note... the best text prediction engine, and swipe-able, but the ability to move the keyboard left or right for one-handed use is sweet, and the floating keyboard is over the top (pun intended).

Since she's new to Android altogether, I'd tell her to just get acclimated to her phone and it's features first. Then she can look into what apps she might want/ need as she finds limitations in the OEM stuff. That way she doesn't get overwhelmed. There are tons of Android 101 and Galaxy Note 3 tips and tricks videos on Youtube to keep her busy for days lol.
