bought my droid on launch day and today is dec 6th the last day i can go swap out for a new one. i keep getting a lot of force closes in my camera, apps, random reboots and a few other things. so should i take it back or wait and see if the software update helps these problems? i also already mailed in my rebate and had to cut the barcodes off the side of the box. will they still take it? please help! thanks!

they will take it for a straight exchange even without the barcodes.

a lot of force closes are not a hardware issue though, so changing your phone most likely isn't going to solve them. try doing a wipe and starting from scratch and see if you still have problems.

if it still gives you a lot of issues when there's basically nothing on it, take it back for another one

also when i want to watch youtube videos in high quality they wont load or they load and only play for 5 seconds......just getting frustrated because i left my bb storm for this phone and seem to be having sim problems uuuuggggggghhhhh!!!!!!

the issues you're talking about aren't sim issues.

I'm with the rest of the gang, wipe it and restart...I wonder if you don't have an app thats giving you issues. Do you regularly kill running apps to free up memory?

you won't lose your contacts or email as they are stored in the cloud, but pictures, videos, and apps will be lost.

you can back up pictures and videos by moving them to your computer, or just keeping them on the SD card (where they probably already are)

for apps, if you want to back them up, i think ASTRO file manager can back up apps to the SD card

or just make a list or something and download them again from the market. which might be better for troubleshooting purposes anyways.

if you've bought anything, so long as you setup your droid with the same gmail account, you can download any app you've bought again free of charge
