need some help please

why can't I get my facebook notifications to show up in the notifications tray.I have played with most of the settings on the app but not the friends flow app. I use the one in the app launcher and the only way I can see them is by going to home/notifications/and then refresh. I have it set to update every hour but nothing shows up.

i went with text alerts in order to bypass the shotty notifications on the facebook app.

I do not get notifications for both twitter and facebook from friendsflow and the facebook app, I'm pretty sure I have it set to get them.
