need to go to Verizon tomorrow and need some help first so I can argue with some knowledge my phone talks just out of the blue it will say Verizon-about 30 or more times a day- nothing else just that or it will say verizon lost of service. I feel like I should be getting some profits from all the advertising that comes out of my phone. sometimes it gets so bad I have to cut the phone off. When I first got the phone Verzion told me this was normal. battery life is the pits went to bed last night at 2am 90% charge this morning at 10am it was down to 15% this weekend went to Dallas my daughter has the same phone she charged hers once I had to charge several times a day. I have fancy widget on my first page and calendar pad widget. What else do y'all suggest that I do or can tell Verizon. Is this right or wrong things like games that are on one of the screens use battery just sitting there or do you have to be using them. Same thing with some of the widgets I have downloaded several to try out just one at a time do I need to uninstall the ones that I am not using. Also use sounds to tell me when I get new emails or texts and I get a lot does this make any difference. Any help you can give will be appreciated. sandra

I work at VZW. So I can probably help. Your phone says Verizon? Thats not normal. Check to see if any of the notifications are turned on under the sounds section. Usually it says Verizon when it is either changing networks or a call is coming in if the alert is turned on. Alerts Like Network Lost Tone, Call Connect, Roaming tone should not be turned on.

Not sure what is killing your battery. Make sure it is in nighttime battery saver mode. That will turn off data syncing during off peak times. Games should only be eating your battery while you are playing them. I do not keep apps on my phone that I do not use enough.

I got it Halloween 2010-hope that is not a sign

Hahaha. No, you have a year warranty on the phone and battery. Did the battery just start draining that fast? If so have you added any apps recently that may be draining it? Not likely but could happen. Sometimes the batteries can just go bad as well.

Also, under settings, sounds did you see any of those alerts checked I was talking about?

the roaming tone was on but nothing else and the battery was set on maximum battery saver. it worked really well than I started adding things but it was like bam no battery. I have taken off the most recent things but have not noticed any change still bad on the battery.

If the roaming tone was on it will say Verizon Wireless almost any time you change towers. I would turn it off.

Verizon will have you do a factory reset before replacing the phone so you may as well try that. It will wipe everything back to factory. Go to contacts and then hit your menu button. Export them to your SD card just in case they are not backed up on Google. Your photos and other saved things will be on your SD card. You can download SMS backup on the market if you need to backup your texts. You will have to re download any apps once you get the phone back on. Also make sure you know your Google log in info.

If the factory wipe does not seem to help in the next few days then take it on into a store and tell them you have tried that and are still having battery issues. Or you can take it in and have them do the reset for you.

thanks I will try that tonight after I get rid of my household. those settings were from Verizon but let me tell you that woman was driving me crazy, I must change towers inside my house because she is really proud of the name Verizon going by how many times she says it. On the way to dallas we were using the driving gps it was talking, she was talking and we had 2 game players in the back seat and they forgot the ear phones so I am surprised we were not run over. so the factory reset will make it just like I came home with?

Right. It will be like it was when you got it from the store. When you put your Google account back on it should load your contacts back on. But I would save em to the SD card to be safe.
