Need to get back to 4.2

Like many others I installed the update 5 Lollypop on my 2012 Nexus 7.. I bitterly regret that is there an easy way to get back to the previous operating system ? Probably been asked before sorry.

Before you do that, have you tried wiping the system cache partition? http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...e-nexus-7-2012-2013-cache-partition-wipe.html. Or, since a factory image restore would wipe it anyway, how about a factory data reset first?

Thanks B Diddy the only thing I have done is cleared the Cache in the settings >storage I have seen your post re cache partition but got a bit fearful however as my 7 took 15 minutes this morning before it would do anything and it was only on standby I am thinking desperate measures may be needed however I will hang on and use my Hudl in the hope updates to either 5 or apps will show up sooner rather than later

Wiping the cache partition doesn't erase any personal data, so there isn't anything to worry about. It might not end up helping, but it also won't hurt.

Did you factory reset after the update? Try that first. Lollipop will restore apps and wallpaper after.

Going to 4.2 would disable the fstrim function. Go to 4.3 at least.

Factory reset and cleared cache. It's better than it was. Still waaaaaaaay too slow. Seems like 5.0 wasn't ready for primetime.
