Hi,
I am hoping somebody on this forum will be kind enough to help me with my issue as I have currently run out of ideas!
I slipped on a patch of ice over the Christmas holidays and my Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) was in my pocket at the time, I was horrified to find that the screen was completely smashed when I got up but more importantly I have a lot of important memos on it containing passwords/pins etc. and without them I am in somewhat of a mess.
The phone itself is still functioning (minus the screen) and I have plugged it into the USB port of my PC where everything is recognised but I can't find any folder on it that contains my memos and even if I found one I am assuming that they wouldn't be in a format that a PC can read.
I have tried about half a dozen backup/recovery programs but because the J series aren't popular models none of the programs I have tried have my model listed, even Samsung Kies is not compatible with the J3.
The only thing I could find was a Samsung program called Smart Switch but when I tried to backup my files on the broken phone and export them to an old Galaxy J1 that I had lying around it kept misreporting the available space on the J1 saying there was not enough room to recover the files when the phone itself was reporting that there was plenty.
As I have already mentioned I am completely screwed without these memo notes (I know I should have backed them up) so if anybody can tell me a way to gain access to them again I would be extremely grateful, I have already ordered a new J7 Pro as it's too expensive to get the J3 repaired so the PC is my only option really.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
