Need to unlock phone with PIN before answering a call?

I seem to have a bug on my galaxy s3. Sometimes when a call comes in and I go to answer it I have to unlock the phone with my PIN and then the swift keyboard trial message pops up and then sometimes I need to drag open the notification screen and answer the call from there, this wasn't happening before but before what I am not sure. Has anyone ever had this problem with their GS3?

Sometimes I miss the call because it took too long to answer.

Regardless of the Lock screen setting (none; Swipe; pattern; etc) you should be able to answer your phone directly.

Never use the PIN lock, but why not just buy the keyboard?
