Need to update build.prop on x96 Android Box running Android 11

Hi, I'm a newbie on Android so forgive my ignorance. I use an Android TV Box to run digital pinball games and I have a monitor mounted portrait style to play them. This has been working fine on the Beelink android device I have but it is running Android 9 and I can't play some of the newer games. As a result I purchased an X96 Max+ Ultra running Android 11. The problem is it does not show the set orientation option in settings.

After doing some research it appears the buid.prop file has a line
persist.sys.app.rotation=force_land
that I need to change to
persist.sys.app.rotation=force_port

But I've been struggling to make this change. I tried using ES File Explorer and X-Plore to edit the build.prop file and nothing will let me modify it. Can anyone offer me simple instructions on how to make this change?

You probably have to root it to change that package, try XDA Forums
