So I didn't realize that this cable was USB C to USB C, I am coming from the HTC 10 which is USB-C Male to USB-A Male. I need a 6 foot cable, I am looking for recommendations since I have heard that some these USB C cables can be flaky.

You shouldnt have any issue with USB C to USB C. The problems of a year or more ago were related to early released USB C to USB A cables having a missing resistor or something like that, which put the charger in danger (whatever USB A charger you had). I assume unless you get old stock, most of these have been removed from sale.

I have a Nexus 5X and never had any issues with USB-C to USB-C. Build quality might be the only difference. Throughput should be little variance. I have purchased CHoetech cables with no issues and solid. I have also purchased a brand called iCASEIT, which had nice looking aluminum tipped cables. These started to come apart a bit - would not recommend.

I looked into this a little more since my info may be almost 2 years old and here is what I found. Although my statement is correct than most UCB C to USB C cables should all have safe USB format charging, there are some differences with which ones support USB 3 data throughput. Some only support USB 2. Also, some do not support the higher voltages up to 20v (this is not an issue with a phone though, only using 5v over USB C). So if you want to future proof yourself with a cable here is a list to pick through... Benson Approved!

I have been using Anker products in both USB C and others. No issues and fast charging for my LG V20.

Lateck,

I've got a few of those.... I only found some issues with connecting to a PC an transferring data, charging is all good.
