Neil vs. Neal

I know more Neals than Neils, and use voice to text often. How can I get it to consistently type "Neal" when I say the name? It always types Neil.

I'm using a Note 10 with the Gboard keyboard.

Did you try to add Neal under settings .. personal dictionary?that might help ..


Edit I realize it's voice ..I thought if you kept correcting the word. It might be smart enough to start using it going forward, but I've not tested it..

I just thought of Neil Peart. If my phone spelled his name wrong, I'd be ticked.

Nyall and Niall are also sometimes pronounced with a long e. So we have Neal, Neil, Kneel, Nyall and Niall. There may be hundreds more for all we know. Let’s hope so.

Anyway, I have a close friend who I message all the time spelled Jarrod, but Assistant always types his name is Jarred. I might try the method above to get it to type the name correctly.
