Update:6/11/2011
I mistakenly uninstalled the Netflix App to see if I could reinstall and fix the problem outlined below. But the Android Market now checks your device and won't let you download the Netflix App as it is not defined for my device. I went over to the XDA Developer's Forums and found the original thread for their modified version Netflix. Towards the end of the thread (there were at the time 151 pages of replies) people added links to the newer app from Netflix that no longer checks for device. I emailed the APK to my gmail account, sideloaded the apk and now Netflix works again. But I cannot say why it stopped working.
End of Update
This is on a Nook Color running Cyanogenmod 7, stable release, internal memory.
This morning Netflix was working fine, but now eight hours later I cannot watch any videos. I am able to log in to my Netflix account and see my instant streaming queue, but when I try to play anything in that queue I get the message:
"It looks like Netflix has been deactivated on this device. It could be an issue with your account or perhaps your device was deactivated on netflix.com. (2004)"
(italics mine)
I checked my account, using my PC, and see no problems. Once Netflix reports this error, I have to log in again on the Nook Color.
I used the Android task manager to see if it was a Cache problem; since clearing cache used to be the way to fix You-Tube streaming. But the application is using 0B cache and the clear cache button is disabled. I rebooted the device and retried, with the same bad results.
Is anyone else having this problem, or know how to fix it?
