Netflix without Root

It's kind of irritating that it's just not working in the first place. I see they removed NetFlix from the list of applications on their specifications page. Last week they had it listed, so someone jumped the gun.

Its not a 3.2 issue. Netflix is rolling out apks at a molasses in winter time pace. Netflix works on other tablets with 3.1 and 3.2.

Yeah I'm referring to the 3.2 Asus TF as this is the TF section.:D
I know it work for other devices running 3.2

Please correct me if I'm wrong as I am curious as to what the freaking hold up is on getting the Netflix app to work on the TF but doesn't Netflix just certify the chip set and not each actual device? Like on the TF for example it would just need to make sure the Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset had its certification from Netflix which I'm pretty sure it does since the app works on other Tegra 2 tablets. I'm sure there is more to it than this but I'm just a little confused/frustrated to understand what the hold up is.

All I do know for sure is Netflix sure screwed up the roll out of their app.

Yes, Netflix did screw up the roll out of their app. I was hoping to get it working before I go on vacation next week so I could watch some netflix on the TV in the hotel. Doesn't look like it's going to happen. I don't feel like jumping through all the hoops to hack it onto my TF.

Sad for Netflix but they will be losing lots of customers with their pricing structure changes and failure to allow Netflix to work on ALL Honeycomb devices

What Hoops? 3 minutes to root, one file to rename or overwrite, 30 seconds to un-root, then you have working Netflix. Don't see what the issue is.....

The hoops you just listed. Some of us don't want to have to root/hack our tablet to get access to an app that should work anyway.

If anyone considers that a "hoop".........I'll just leave it there, and say I feel sorry for anyone who can't read a few (VERY FEW!!!) lines of instruction, and follow them. Probably the same people who complain to their 'puter-savvy friends when their internet stops working. Or even better, the same people who sit in a completely blacked-out room, and whine about their tablet having a little light-bleed. GET OVER IT!!!!!

Oh, and BTW, why exactly "should" Netflix work. Because you say so? ASUS sure never said so or advertised so, at least not when they FIRST released the TF. Most people just assumed so. Do you blame Chevy for not having SYNC, when Ford has it; they both make cars, don't they?

/rant and I will say none of it is meant personally.

Yes. Rooting is a hoop. I am not unable to follow some lines of instruction. I have a rooted romed Droid X. Rooting is a hoop because it voids your warranty.

The reason I say that it should have Netflix is because there are android tablets (Xoom and others) that are supported. There is nothing about the TF that should prevent Netflix from supporting it. I don't think it is any fault of Asus, but more Netflix. (And for awhile it did show Netflix support on the Asus Transformer spec page Asus Transformer to See Official Netflix Support With Android 3.2 Update? - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog)

Any just FYI, there are people who own tablets that aren't computer savvy, and probably CAN'T follow the instructions to root their tablet.
