I purchased a Netgear PVT3000 Miracast receiver and ran into a world of headaches from vague instructions and strange bugs. So in the sole interest of saving someone else this experience here is my advice for using the with a Nexus 4 running V 4.2.2.

First, upgrade the firmware on the PVT3000. Mine was at 2.2.12 and I upgraded to 2.2.15
Do this by getting a laptop (you must have a wireless device for later steps and my N4 browsers could not get it done, nor could the N4 connect to the wireless network it created.)
Download the upgrade file from NETGEAR Connected Entertainment . This file will come zipped and the only way I could make it work was to unzip the file so I could work with the .bin file.

Now connect your PVT3000 to your TV with a HDMI cable and power the PVT with the supplied USB cable and adaptor. I tried using the TV USB but it did not have enough power to run a wireless network needed in the next steps.
Make sure you select your TV to the correct HDMI video input.

Once the PTV3000 has powered up hold the button on the side down for about 10 seconds and let go. The PTV should boot into update mode. When in this mode is creates its own temporary wireless network called PushToTV. Connect your laptop wireless to this network. (it is open and no password needed however I had to stay quite close to the device to stay connected) Once connected open a browser and browse to 192.168.3.1 You will get a small webpage served from the PVT3000. Browse for the .bin file you downloaded to your laptop and click the update button. This will start the update process. Mine took almost 30 minutes to complete so be patient. When it was done, the device rebooted itself and disconnect the wireless access point it had made.

When the system comes back up, go to your N4 and under Display in Settings you will find Wireless Display at the very bottom. Tap that and turn it on. You should see the PushToTV device in available devices. If it does not appear after a few minutes, leave the N4 running and reboot the PTV and it should appear.
Notes on rebooting: I found that if I hold the button down on the side of the PTV to go in to the flash mode, then once in flash mode, push the button once it will return to the operating mode much quicker than unplugging waiting for it to power up. I also found this more reliable if you can not connect to the device for some reason.
I now have the PTV plugged into the TV USB and it seems to work fine for Miracast.

I hope these instructions save someone the 6 hours I fooled around with this device to make it work right for me.

PS I love it and watched a Google Play movie just fine on my TV with good quality.

Update today...
I am thinking the PVT3000 is a poorly built piece of junk.
I have found that reconnection to this device after you disconnect is very hit and miss. It just will not connect and often get a message "RTSP closed by the source", whatever that means.
I have now found that if you "Forget" the connection on the N4 then reboot the PVT until you get it showing in the list on the N4 again, it seems to connect.
One saving grace is that once you get it connected it seems to work real good.
I will keep y'all posted about my trials and tribulations with this thing.

I just wanted to say congratulations on your 7th year owning/operating Cafe Roma. I find it truly inspirational. Have similar plans for the lady and myself in the years to come. If I happen to be in Puerto Vallarta I surely stop in to say hello and get our Android nerd on:cool: Thanks for the updates and good luck. I have a MK808B Android mini pc so I never really have a reason to connect my N4. Highly recommend if you end up looking for another route.

I am thinking the Miracast option with the PVT3000 is not for the faint of heart after having it working for about a week. Getting connected reliably and quickly is a real issue. What works one day does not work the next day. I have found that "forgetting" the connection then enabling the Miracast on the N4 then rebooting the PVT3000 seems to work if all else fails.
My next experiment will probably be the MK808B.

Have you checked out Rocketfish? - Miracast Video Receiver (RF-WFD301)? I believe it is Miracast certified and is available at Best Buy for MSRP $79.99.
