New Amazon app store

How does it work when the app has an update? If you buy the app do you pay each time? Seems like a dopey question but when I see an update it shows the same price

It works much the same way as Market. It is tied to your amazon account and remembers your apps.

I recently wiped my phone and it restored them without any trouble.

It's actually a pain in the a$$ about updates because it keeps prompting you over and over. I actually got tired of it and uninstalled the appstore because of it. It was also the fact that you can't disable one click purchase. I find that annoying.
