Hello everyone. I have convinced the missus that we need Thunderbolts for our new phones. Hoepfully, the Austin area will get 4G before too much longer. I'm pretty excited.
I'm a long time tweaker (not a hacker or anything), I just like my stuff to run the way I want it to. I've built my own PCs since my first 386-40. I've run Windows without IE being on the computer. So, I like the control. Unfortunately, for my various jobs, and hobbies, I have to have Windows.
Phones, though, I can do what I want. I loved the idea of the 'bolt, but I'm not a fan of bloatware and the forums here seemed to offer the most help for rooting. I'm not even going to play with the phone first. Make sure the battery is charged and root it.
If anyone has any advice on moving contact lists from Win Mobile 6.5 to Android, that would be awesome. I'll see if I can find it on the forum in a bit.
In case you're curious, I'm a Science Content Specialist with Pearson. Remember all those tests you took in high school, I write the science ones. I've got plenty of knowledge of science and education, if you need any help, let me know and I'll see what I can do (please don't ask about actual test questions. Most of our projects have over 5000 actual questions.)
I also run a blog that talks about science and tech, among other things. Cassandra's Tears | Science, Technology, Education, Government, and anti-woo. Cassandra had the gift of seeing the future, but the curse of having no one believe her.
