New AT&T Android Update

I am currently rooted on 4.1.2 and wanted to know if it is possible to take the latest OTA update. Would it cause me to lose root or would I have to unroot to take it and would I be able to get root back?

You would need to uproot and make sure you have Stock Recovery to get the OTA update. I am not sure if they have figured out a root system for 4.4.2 as yet.

Will probably delay till I know I can get root back. Have too many things that rely on root access to give it up. How do I go back to stock recovery?
