New Droid Maxx - Old Droid Razr Verizon Cloud App, WiFi Pairing

Hello All,
Not sure this is in the right forum, but I need some help if possible.

As the Title suggests, I have the Verizon Cloud app on both phones. I CANNOT get them to pair and Verizon is NO help.
According to the app, the phones can be paired via WiFi using the same network on both phones. (obviously)
In my case, my home wireless router. The app allows you to pick the "From Phone" and the "To Phone" Both phones search for each other, but fail to pair. The "Pair" button appears on both phones after a bit. Press them both again and wait for the same (fail) result. It doesn't say it failed, just times out.

Hope someone can shed some light on this.

I'm having the exact same problem and found this post when I was searching for a solution. Did you ever find a resolution?

I'm assuming that you both have never resolved this. A crap app from Verizon with no useful help from Verizon. I've been trying the same thing and can't get them to pair and transfer anything. HTC Rezound to LG G3

A little off topic, but I am about to upgrade from Rezound to LG G4. How did you find the transition? I think I am going to miss a lot of the Sense widgets.

On topic sorta, I am contemplating using Verizon Cloud to backup/restore but am a bit nervous with some bad reviews. What is pairing about? Is that NFC? Rezound doesn't have NFC.

Can't I just plug the USB to my PC and copy everything I want? But I'm not sure if I will have file system access to everything I need and might pick up crud too. Does Android have a "registry" like Windows or is everything in the file system?

I mostly want to preserve some old apps and all apps data. Some of my apps are no longer in Play store. Some came from Amazon Appstore and also obsolete (but very much used and loved). My pics are in dropbox. So no worry there, but it might be nice to have them on the phone too automatically. I suppose Music too. Would be nice to preserve SMS and Call history. Google has my contacts but some (most?) phone numbers are somewhere on the phone too. I used to have a system "Google is for gmail and phone is for telephone calls - tel nos." So phone numbers are not necessarily in Google's contacts.

Any advice? Have I forgotten anything else (to worry about, like I don't have enough)
