New droid z force says there was factory reset in phone info

[AC Question]

I purchased this phone yesterday. I asked the rep if the phone was indeed brand new, because the box had looked open. She said yes. When I got home, I got into the phone info and under last factory reset, it has the date of Aug. 9th. This phone was releases on Jul 28th. And it shouldn't even have a date at all under last factory reset right? So I did not get a brand new phone, right? I just want to make sure I know what i'm talking about if I take it back today and ask for a brand new, never opened phone. Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! It's reasonable to bring it back and ask them--although I wonder if stores might sometimes open the boxes up to do some kind of maintenance before actually selling them to the customer.
