I joined androidcentral to see if I can find a safe way to safely update my Sprint Epic 4G to Froyo. I'm not real tech savvy & can follow directions if they're simple. I did the prompted OTA update in March & it was a disaster. It forze up my phone & I had to spend hours with Sprint tech support. They eventually gave me a new phone & a $100 credit for all the trouble. I have have been told to wait a month or so to do the update again. The whole time I've been getting prompt to do the OTA update. I talked to Sprint tech support today and the rep told me that he recommended doing by USB. He said to go to the Samsung website to do it but that was no help.
I'm currently running the stock SPH-700 Eclair 2.1 build DI18.
I found on this site where I can do it, but do I do it through my phone or by USB on my laptop. I would really appreciate any advice.
