New Eris User

Hello Everyone:

I will be a new Eris user as of 4/13. I'm making the switch from my BlackBerry Tour and I love that phone. I just wanted an Android phone because RIM's browser is so slow.

Just wondering if there is anything that I should update on the phone right out of the box?

You can take a look at Androlib.com or Appbrain.com and look for some of the apps you used on your Tour. Some of the apps found won't work on the Eris while it is still running the 1.5 OS, but that should change before too long.

The phone will receive a couple of OTA updates right away, mine did in January when I got mine.

If you want the battery to last disable the auto screen brightness. I've having turned off and get life for the 12 hours I'm on it.
