New Firmware Camera Test

How is this better? The moment you start to walk or do quick movement while filming you get this staggering effect in the whole frame.
Yeah, videos looks great when you stand still, and nothing in the shot moves. Just like a photo. To me, video on this phone is useless.
My three year old iphone does better than this. Dont you really expect more of a brand new phone from late 2018 with what they (who?) says is "the best" camera?

I agree and don't blame the messenger I just posted what I just saw.

The jelly effect is just not excusable for a phone in 2018

I wasnt blaming you ;) Its just wierd how all reviews of this phone is so positive despite how bad the videos are. They are either sponsored by huawei or blind.

Nearly every reviewer I've watched have mentioned that jelly effect in 4k 30fps. But not in 1080p. They probably don't take a lot of videos like myself. This doesn't bother me one bit.

This phone is bad for videos on the back camera in every mode, not just 4K. Be it jelly effect, fuzziness, jumpiness. All of which can be seen in the video above.

Weirdly the front camera is fine, apart from the excessive skin smoothing.

I was thinking the same, how have none of the reviewers mentioned this?!?

Woah!! That jelly effect is bad. I'll have to give mine a go. I barely record video and the one video I have which is 1080P@60FPS is in a nightclub with me and some mates incoherently rapping to a song so there's no way I am putting that up

But I'll try shoot some 1080P and 4K and see what I get.

I was on the .113 FW and yesterday updated to .126 FW.

Before buying this phone I watched several video comparisons on youtube, and the stabilisation in 1080p looked really solid. No jelly effect or anything. So either it just needs a firmware update and the demo models were using something even newer, or those videos were taken under different conditions.

I havent taken much video yet, but the one I did take I noticed the AI was being a bit crazy. It kept trying to do clever bokeh effects, and change lighting, so the video wasn't consistent. I'll try and take one with that off and see what it looks like stabilisation wise.

Pictures so far have been outstanding.
