To answer your question, it makes the phone work a lot better and more efficient. But vzw screwed some things. Guys stay on topic here

Nope, we got very slight upgrades to Sense so we have the same lockscreen we've always had.

I didn't notice anything (other then no VM indicator. ). There is a nice quick settings menu on the pulldown for WiFi and such. It may run a touch smoother and may use very slightly less battery. (or it may not, hard to tell.) In other words, if you didn't get it, don't go looking for it yet.

Oh, and it just made my lunch.

The update has been pulled due to the Voicemail Notification not working in the OTA Gingerbread update.
