I have had ups and downs with my Samsung Galaxy S11. I first got this phone on last December 31 2011. At first it was great. Then a few weeks later I started to get "bombed" by repeat texts - sometimes 24 of the same text. And friends started commenting that they had received "prank" texts from me. So I did a factory reset using the Samsung code. That was fine and all was well until I decided I needed to upgrade to an external micro SD card. Well - reboot loops galore! I hated that! It didn't mind music and photos but it hated me moving apps across to it. I found that when I removed the card, no problems at all except no music . So I had to uninstall the external card's apps. Then card back in and no problems except I wanted to be able to move large apps across.
Anyway a month ago I upgraded the battery to a 200mHa one. That was fine. Much better battery life.
But the card problem still bugged me. My adult son encouraged me to upgrade to ICS as he hoped the card problem would have been ironed out in the new upgrade. So upgrade I did, using the Kies website. Well - horrors and trauma! Yuck! Constant problems galore! Battery life dropped dramatically. Constant force closes of various apps/processes. Phone constantly freezing.
So two days later my son did a factory reset of ICS using Kies, and wiped the external sd card. Plus he rooted the phone. Now the ext micro sd card has some large size apps on it and tolerates this. (Plus its previous music and photos and videos).
However I still get a daily "Process system is not responding" when it starts up. I usually respond with "wait" but sometimes with "ok". The phone works ok until I do alot of playing around with it, when it will freeze and then turn off. It won't turn on normally even when I hold down the power button for 10 seconds. So then I take the battery out then back in. It starts up ok, but often with the "process system not responding" thingy. Then at some stage later it freezes or sometimes I just find it has turned itself off.
Do I need to do yet another factory reset? Or are these problems - "process system not responding" and the freezing and/or turning off, just part and parcel of an ICS upgrade? Also I do not actually understand as I am a newbie - what is the "process system" that is not responding?
Cheers to all
