I have been using IOS since the 4s (still have it) I don't have any problems with IOS except price and screen size on Phones.

I have used a family's iPad 4 without any problems. I like the speed, screen resolution, how smooth the OS works. Nothing really lags and everything I use runs the way it supposed to.

I have been wanting to get a tablet for sometime and I had the opportunity to use an a Android tablet the Acer Acronis A700.
I did not like it. It lagged, Wifi would shut off if the screen was off sometimes, touchscreen response time, etc.

I would really like to switch over to Android for price and screen sizes of the phones.

I need suggestions on 10" Android tablets that would compare to an iPad 4 or an iPad Air in speed, screen resolution, smoothness of the OS, and touchscreen response time etc.

Additional must haves for the Android tablet is 10", 32gb preferred, must have expandable MicroSD slot so I can use my 64gb card in it. Lots of custom Rom support.

Any suggestions on what 10" Android tablet's I should try that meets the expectations of an iPad so I can finally make the leap over to Android so I can get a bigger screen phone after the tablet. :)

Thanks

Welcome to the forums.
Samsung is probably the way to go for most of the things you want. They are still going to be somewhat pricey, but they also have the custom ROM support, 10.1" but as I have been out of the market for tablet shopping for quite some time, I do not know internal memory sizes nor am I sure if they can take a 64 GB card.

You could try one of the Asus tablets, like the older Transformer TF700 or the newer MeMO Pad.
