Google launched their new Hangout app today that replaces the Talk app. Yet when I look on my device I still have Talk, not the Hangout app. I went into the Playstore and found Hangout app and it just shows "open". Does anyone here ha e the new Hangout app on their One? If so, how did you get it to work?

I had the same thing happen on my HOX+ and someone on another thread suggested uninstalling the Talk app (I used ROM Toolbox Pro) and then install it again from the Play Store. I now have Hangouts on my phone

I am using Hangouts on my HTC One. It works great, but it didn't delete Talk or Google+ Messenger upon installation so I'm getting double notifications. Is there a way to uninstall the superseded apps?

I was able to install it today through the Play Store app with no issues. It works quite well!

I had the same problem yesterday. Went to the play store and the hangouts app said it was installed and the open button took me to the talk app.

Just went back and checked it again in the play store from my phone and today it said update instead of open.

So everyone should check again and see if it works now.

I have not tried using it I just got the update the other day and as far as I know Sprint is not having any issues but if your on AT&T that is another issue.

Go to the hangouts app in the Play Store site in a browser on a computer and click where it says "installed" and you can force the download.

After installing update to talk (hangouts) reset phone or tablet then the correct icon will appear.

I had a notification that there was an update. Installed it then deleted the talk shortcut and replaced it with hangouts. Works perfect.
